Become a Certified Payroll Specialist
The Certified Payroll Specialist (CPS) license enables payroll processors to distinguish themselves from their competition, build credibility, validate knowledge, demonstrate skill, verify experience, and confirm professional ethics.
Requirements
Payroll processors obtain the license by completing the required CPS course, certification, training, experience, and agreeing to abide by the Professional Code of Conduct.
CPS candidates must complete Consortia Accounting School's Certified Payroll Specialist Program.
Accreditation
The CPS license is accredited by Consortia Accounting School.
Consortia is a registered Postsecondary Proprietary School providing post-secondary education for educational, vocational, or professional objectives.
Continuing Professional Education
Obtain 16 hours of CPE each year beginning the year after you obtain your license.

- Complete Annual Application for License Renewal
- Complete Annual CPE Reporting Certification Form (included in the Application for License Renewal)
